History[]
The son of Bor, first king of Asgard, Odin claimed the throne after his father was turned to snow and died. He was the biological father of Thor, the Norse god of storms, thunder, and lightning, and also adopted Loki, the Norse god of mischief, after slaying his father, the Frost Giant king Laufey. It was Odin's favoritism towards Thor that led to Loki's gradual descent into true evil. Odin was once master of the Destroyer and must go into the coma-like Odinsleep to recover from wounds inflicted on him in battle. He gave Thor his mystical uru hammer Mjolnir.
