History[]
Movie stuntman and special effects man Quentin Beck framed Spider-Man for a string of crimes before reappearing shortly after as a superhero known as Mysterio, the Master of Illusion, in order to capture the web-slinger for his alleged misdemeanors and revel in the public's praise. Despite Mysterio's disorienting technological tricks, Spider-Man tricked him into revealing that he was the one who framed Spider-Man in the presence of a tape recorder and remanded him to police custody. Mysterio later formed the Sinister Six with Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Electro, Vulture, and Kraven the Hunter. Though a confrontation with Daredevil left him dead, Mysterio has since been resurrected demonically. Other villains to have called themselves Mysterio are Daniel Berkhart and Francis Klum.
