Groot is a playable character in both LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. He is a hyper-intelligent tree-like member of the Flora Colossus species native to Planet X. At some point, Groot formed a partnership and strong bond with Rocket Raccoon, becoming his accomplice as a mercenary. The pair eventually ran afoul of Peter Quill on Xander, leading to Groot's arrest and incarceration. However, he managed to escape with the help of Rocket and a few other peculiar inmates. Despite their differences, the rag-tag group became the founding members of the Guardians of the Galaxy; a heroic team dedicated to defending the universe.
Role in the Story[]
Groot does not have an actual role in the story. He instead appears in 4 Whac-a-Mole based games he assigns the player to do. When beating the final game, Groot is unlocked.
