Aldrich Killian is a playable character in both LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO Marvel's Avengers.
Role in Story []
Killian and his army of Extremis Soldiers help Loki and the Mandarin break into Stark Tower. His soldiers are confronted and beaten by Captain America and Tony Stark, using first the Mark 1 Armor and later the Mark 42. They face off on the Stark Tower helipad, and after a brief altercation, the two Avengers take down Killian before fighting the Mandarin in the Hulkbuster Armor.
History[]
Aldrich Killian, the Scientist Supreme of A.I.M., was disabled and feeble until he used the revolutionary Extremis Formula to rejuvenate himself and enhance his physical attributes to superhuman levels. Killian then devised a plot to use an army of Extremis-enhanced soldiers to kidnap the President of the United States and frame Iron Patriot for the evil deed, and afterward execute the President on a Roxxon oil rig to allow the A.I.M.-controlled Vice President to become the new President. However, initial ill reactions to Extremis caused early soldiers to detonate like powerful explosives in urban centers. To keep the public in the dark, Killian hired unsuspecting British actor Trevor Slattery to pretend to be the terrorist leader Mandarin and take responsibility for the "bombings." When Iron Man and his allies became aware of Killian's scheme, they saved the President, destroyed his armies of stable Extremis Soldiers, and seemingly killed Killian, but Killian somehow survived and became affiliated with the real Mandarin.
Appearance[]
Aldrich Killian has blond hair and deathly pale skin and wears a blue shirt, a tan jacket, tan pants, and skin-colored gloves. When in fire breath mode, Killian manifests red markings on his face.
Abilities[]
- Flame Projection: Aldrich Killian, by virtue of being Extremis-enhanced, can throw fireballs and breath a stream of flame.
Trivia[]
- Aldrich Killian served as the main antagonist in Iron Man 3.
- Despite being based on his film appearance he does not take on the identity of the Mandarin like the film.
- In the comics, Killian was not really a villain and was not injected with Extremis. He just developed the Extremis formula, gave it to a group of terrorists, and then committed suicide soon after.
